Katie Paolucci is a certified personal trainer, pilot, cyclist, health and fitness advocate and proud member of the Wheelin’ Warriors of the North team, which helps raise money for the BC Cancer Foundation.
Katie is the lead Health Promotion Supervisor at the YMCA. Her main area is running their hip and knee program, as well as pre- and post-surgery rehab. She also runs another program called Small Steps for Big Changes. This is a university study being put on by Dr. Mary Jung of UBCO. It’s a program studying type 2 diabetes prevention.
Katie recently became a pilot. This was a huge achievement for her, as it was a major challenge and took substantial amount of hard work, focus and dedication. Since becoming a pilot, Katie also accepted the head chair role for the Canadian 99’s, which is a worldwide organization designed to support and encourage women pilots.
Katie will also be participating in the Tour De Cure fundraiser in August, raising money for the BC Cancer Foundation and cycling over 200km in a single weekend from Cloverdale to Hope.
